Numbers rose to 6,173, up by 2,741 at the Roma Store Sale.
Cattle were drawn from a wide supply area, with an increase in western cattle and the sale included numbers from Alice Springs.
The quality varied from the previous week, in a yarding dominated by steers that included numbers of heavy weight steers and bullocks, along with good numbers of prime cows. A smaller buying panel was present and operating, including all regular processors.
Overall the market eased, with prices reflective of quality variations, however quality cattle remained firm as indicated by top prices.
Light weight steers down by 26c to 107c,while medium weight steers to feed fell by 21c to 57c/kg. However medium weight steers under 330kg to restockers rose by 10c/kg. Heavy weight steers to feed eased by 10c/kg. Light weight heifers under 280kg fell by 61c, while medium weight heifers to feed rose by 1c to 13c/kg. Heavy weight cows fell by 15c to 17c/kg.
Light weight yearling steers under 200kg sold to a top of 742.2c to average 715c/kg. Yearling steers under 280kg to restockers made to 784.2c to average 690c/kg. Medium weight yearling steers under 330kg to restockers sold to 750.2c to average 662c/kg. Yearling steers under 400kg to restockers made to 700.2c to average 626c/kg. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed reached a top of 566.2c to average 539c/kg.
Light weight yearling heifers under 200kg to restockers made to 680.2c to average 451c/kg. Yearling heifers under 280kg to restockers made to 676.2c to average 614c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers under 330kg to restockers sold to 630.2c to average 587c/kg. Yearling heifers under 400kg to restockers reached a top of 606.2c to average 532c/kg, Heavy weight yearling heifers to restockers made to 520c to average 496c/kg. The best of the heavy weight grown steers made to 430.2c to average 429c/kg. Medium weight grown heifers made to 482.2c to average 384c/kg. Medium weight PTIC cows sold to 410.2c to average 381c/kg. Heavy weight prime cows reached a top of 384.2c to average 374c/kg.
Heavy weight bulls made to 340.2c to average 329c/kg.
Cows and calves sold to a top of $3,060/unit.

Steers in the 280-350kg range reached 750c/kg and averaged 624c/kg, and steers in the 350-400kg range reached 650c/kg and averaged 551c/kg. Feeder steers in the 400-550kg range topping at 566c/kg and averaging 478c/kg.
