Roma store sale 23 July 2024: Agents yard 9029 head

Yarding: 9029 Change: + 1291

Roma Agents continue to yard large numbers of 9,029 head.

All the regular processors feedlotters and backgrounders present.

Another quality yarding of heavier weaners, feeders with prime bullocks penned as well as in excess of 2200 cows. The market held firm to slightly dearer for most descriptions however cows could not maintain the levels of last sale.

Light weight yearling steers under 200kg sold from 372c to 420c/kg. Yearling steers 200 to 280kg made from 304c to 430c to average 383c/kg. Yearling steers 280 to 330kg topped 430c/kg. Yearling steers 330 to 400kg also improved and sold from 266c to 420c/kg.Yearling steers 400 to 480kg improved as well and made to 380c to average 366c/kg. Yearling steers over 480kg sold from 300c to 378c/kg an increase of almost 42c/kg.

Light weight yearling heifers under 200kg made from 200c to 318c/kg. Yearling heifers 200 to 280kg topped 312c to average 286c/kg. Yearling heifers 280 to 330kg with the majority selling from 236c to 322c/kg. Yearling heifers 330 to 400kg topped 324c with the over 400kg selling to 344c/kg.  Grown steers 500 to 600kg topped 330c/kg.

Grown steers over 600kg made to 338c and averaged 326c and with heavy bullocks selling to 298c/kg. Grown heifers over 540kg improved and made to 320c and averaged 303c/kg.

There was another great line up of good quality prime conditioned cows which could not maintain the levels of last sale. The 2 score cows 400 to 520kg topped 278c and averaged 221c/kg. The 3 score cows sold from 215c to 322c/kg. Heavy bulls over 600kg made to 304c and bulls 450 to 600kg topped 300c and averaged 274c/kg.

Weaner steers under 200kg topped at 372c/kg and averaged 369c/kg, weaner steers in the 200-280kg range reached 430c/kg and averaged 384c/kg. Steers in the 280-330kg range reached 420c/kg and averaged 368c/kg, and steers in the 330-400kg range reached 420c/kg and averaged 356c/kg. Feeder steers in the 400-500kg range topped at 378c/kg and averaged 355c/kg.

Richard James Pye, Tenapera, Drillham sold Angus steers to 430c/kg, reaching a top of $1,397 to average $1,127. The Angus heifers sold to 318c/kg, reaching a top of $855 to average $778.

DW & CE Collinson, West Myall, Roma sold Angus cross steers to 404c/kg, reaching a top of $1,347 to average $1,223. The Angus heifers sold to 290c/kg, reaching a top of $815 to average $815.

BRF Southern, Breena Plains, St George sold Angus cross steers to 398c/kg, reaching a top of $1,142 to average $996. The Santa Gertrudis cross heifers sold to 305c/kg, reaching a top of $1,434 to average $998.

LA & ZE McAuliffe, Stagmount, Aramac sold Santa Gertrudis cross steers to 394c/kg, reaching a top of $1,543 to average $1,251. The Santa Gertrudis cross heifers sold to 304c/kg, reaching a top of $1,673 to average $781.

VM, K & AG Hafemeister, Oakleigh, Injune sold Angus cross steers to 392c/kg, reaching a top of $1,294 to average $1,096.

James W Blackburn, Mt Bindango, Roma sold Charolais cross steers to 388c/kg, reaching a top of $1,276 to average $1,215. The Charolais cross heifers sold to 302c/kg, reaching a top of $1,045 to average $925.

Burunga Pty Ltd, Bonanza, Wandoan sold Angus cross steers to 386c/kg, reaching a top of $1,592 to average $1,359.

JMC Grazing, Letterkenny, Morven sold Angus cross steers to 384c/kg, reaching a top of $1,262 to average $1,171. The Angus heifers sold to 300c/kg, reaching a top of $1,009 to average $831.

RP Mac Trust, Sunnyside, Condamine sold Charolais cross cows to 291c/kg, reaching a top of $1,769 to average $1,693.
