Yarding 4955 Change -1362

With reduced numbers Roma Agents yarded 4,955 head.

Cattle were drawn from NSW with large consignments from the usual supply districts.

All the regular processors feedlotters and backgrounders were in attendance with one additional feeder operator present and active.

Light weight yearling steers under 200kg returning to the paddock topped at 478c to average 447c/kg. Yearling steers 200 to 280kg averaged 447c making to 496c/kg. Yearling steers 280 to 330kg topped at 482c and sold mostly from 330c to 419c/kg. Yearling steers 330 to 400kg to feed made from 310c to 416c/kg to average 375c/kg. Yearling steers 400 to 480kg sold to 380c to average 376c/kg. Yearling steers over 480kg to feed topped at 384c/kg.

Light weight yearling heifers under 200kg sold to a dearer trend making to 360c which is almost 90c/kg improvement on last week. Yearling heifers 200 to 280kg also sold to a stronger demand topping at 368c/kg. Yearling heifers 280 to 330kg were dearer by 20c selling to 348c/kg. Yearling heifers 330 to 400kg to restockers made to 338c to average 329c/kg. Yearling heifers 400 to 480kg to feed made to 316c to average 314c/kg. Yearling heifers over 480kg also to feed sold to 304c/kg.

Grown steers 500 to 600kg topped at 288c/kg with grown heifers over 540kg topping at 299c/kg.

The 2 score cows 400 to 520kg made to 284c with the 3 score cows also making to 284c/kg.

The best of the heavy weight bulls selling to 287c/kg.

Weaner steers under 200kg topped at 440c/kg and averaged 389c/kg, weaner steers in the 200-280kg range reached 496c/kg and averaged 431c/kg. Steers in the 280-330kg range reached 474c/kg and averaged 386c/kg, and steers in the 330-400kg range reached 426c/kg and averaged 372c/kg. Feeder steers in the 400-500kg range topped at 384c/kg and averaged 367c/kg.

Murphy Pastoral Co Pty Ltd, Lina Glen Station, Jundah sold Charolais cross steers to 476c/kg, reaching a top of $1,110 to average $907.The Santa Gertrudis cross heifers sold to 360c/kg, reaching a top of $925 to average $709.  The Santa Gertrudis cross mickey bulls sold to 450c/kg, reaching a top of $1,143 to average $730.

Bass Cattle Co, Muldoon, Mungallala sold Santa Gertrudis cross steers to 454c/kg, reaching a top of $1,353 to average $1,154.

HDH Brazier Partnership, Coolowie, Bingara sold Brangus cross steers to 440c/kg, reaching a top of $1,019 to average $959.  The Brangus cross heifers sold to 308c/kg, reaching a top of $773 to average $707.
