Yarding 2900 Change 692
Recent rainfall limited the supply of local cattle with the majority of cattle drawn from South Western Queensland, and included one consignment from Broken Hill.
Despite a mixed quality yarding buyers competed strongly on all categories with most classes of steers improving by 5c to 20c/kg.
A large run of vendor bred heifers from Condamine ranging from 270 to 350kg sold to high demand making to 684.2c/kg.
Export buyers pushed rates to new heights with averages for grown steers up by 12c, and cows up by 30c to 40c/kg.
Light weight restocker steers 200 to 280kg saw a top of 810.2c to lift the average by 8c to 709c/kg. Restocker steers 280 to 330kg made to 716.2c to average 649c/kg. Medium weight feeder steers 330 to 400kg made to 638.2c averaging 602c/kg for the C muscle lines. Heavy yearling feeder steers over 400kg were in short supply selling to 587.2c to average 539c/kg.
Light weight restocker heifers under 200kg made to 696.2c with most around 674c/kg. Restocker heifers 200 to 280kg sold to 684.2 averaging 621c/kg. Restocker buyers were out in force to purchase a line of vendor bred local heifers 270 to 350kg that sold to 684.2c, with the majority averaging 648c/kg. Medium weight feeder heifers made 610.2c to average 524c, while those returning to the paddock made to 684.2c/kg. Heavy weight grown steers to processors sold to 456.2 to average 12c dearer at 464c/kg.

Store cows returning to the paddock made to 342.2c/kg. Medium weight cows to processors lifted in price by 27c selling to 416.2c to average 395c/kg. Heavy weight cows over 520kg made to 420.2c to average 409c, to gain up to 38c/kg on last week.
Heavy weight bulls sold to 400c to average to average 381c/kg.
Best of the cows and calves sold to $3000/unit.
