Yarding 1178 Change -3184

GDL Mitchell Agent, Jason Belz with vendor David Sullivan of “Studley” Roma, sold 35 Angus Cross Bullocks which averaged 726.86kg at Roma two weeks ago. The Angus Cross Bullocks topped at 433.2c/kg, making $3,051.35/head, with all 35 to average $3,019.19/head.
Numbers fell sharply to 1178 head at the Roma Store Sale after the recent widespread rain event. Cattle were mostly drawn from the local supply area and the overall quality was mixed with steers accounting for the majority of the yarding. A good buying panel was present and operating however not all regular processors were present. Overall the market eased, reflective of the mixed quality yarding.
The limited number of light weight steers under 200kg made to 588.2 c/kg while light weight steers under 280kg made to 794.2 c/kg. Medium weight steers under 330kg reached 662.2 c/kg while medium weight steers under 400kg made to 588.2 c/kg. Heavy weight steers reached a top of 548.2 c/kg. Light weight yearling heifers under 200kg made to 578.2 c/kg while light weight yearling heifers under 280kg made to 576.2 c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers under 330kg sold to 520 c/kg while medium weight yearling heifers under 400kg reached a top of 520.2 c/kg. Heavy weight heifers made to 478.2 c/kg.
The small number of cows yarded saw medium weight prime cows reach 382.2 c/kg while heavy weight prime cows made to 376.2 c/kg. Heavy weight bulls sold to a top of 386.2 c/kg.

A total of 4,362 head of cattle were consigned at Roma’s Store Sale on Tuesday.
A total of 1,178 head of cattle were consigned at Roma’s Store Sale on Tuesday. Weaner steers under 200kg topped at 588c/kg and averaged 464c/kg, weaner steers in the 200-280kg range reached 794c/kg and averaged 598c/kg. Steers in the 280-330kg range reached 662c/kg and averaged 592c/kg, and steers in the 330-400kg range reached 588c/kg and averaged 526c/kg. Feeder steers in the 400-500kg range topping at 548c/kg and averaging 492c/kg.
FI & MJ Taylor, Lying Downs, Injune sold Charolais cross steers to 794c/kg, reaching a top of $1,890 to average $1,871.
PA Campbell, Praire Vale, Augathella sold Santa Gertrudis cross steers to 662c/kg, reaching a top of $2,327 to average $2,053.
Luckona Holdings Pty Ltd, Luckona Downs, Wallumbilla sold Droughtmaster cross steers to 620c/kg, reaching a top of $1,710 to average $1,458. The Droughtmaster cross heifers sold to 550c/kg, reaching $1,301 to average $1,203.
LL & SD Bode, Breena Plains, McKinlay sold Droughtmaster cross steers to 578c/kg, reaching a top of $2,286 to average $1,963.
PJ & N Nichol, Sutton Veney, Roma sold Angus steers to 544c/kg, reaching a top of $2,425 to average $2,425.
Yorkaringa Farming Trust, Yorkaringa, Wallumbilla sold Droughtmaster cross steers to 480c/kg, reaching $2,431 to average $2,209.
GR & ML Scott, Ruby Farm, Wallumbilla sold Charolais cross steers to 435c/kg, reaching a top of $2,513 to average $2,513. The Charolais cross heifers sold to 478c/kg, reaching a top of $2,155 to average $2,065.
Heifers under 200kg topped at 578c/kg and averaged 521c/kg, while heifers in the 200- 280kg range topped at 576c/kg and averaged 522c/kg. Heifers in the 280-330kg range topped at 520c/kg, averaging 426c/kg. Heifers in the 330-400kg range topped at 520c/kg, averaging 458c/kg. Heifers in the 400-500kg range topped at 478c/kg, averaging 452c/kg.
Penny Kelly, Lying Downs, Injune sold Charolais cross heifers to 578c/kg, reaching a top of $999 to average $999.
John GD Nichol, Ridgewell, Roma sold Angus cross heifers to 520c/kg, reaching a top of $2,059 to average $2,059.
Cows in the 330-400kg range reached 412c/kg and averaged 338c/kg. Cows in the 400- 500kg range topped at 382c/kg, averaging 346c/kg. Cows in the 500-600kg range topped at 377c/kg, averaging 358c/kg. Cows over 600kg topped at 370c/kg, averaging 370c/kg.
Angellala Downs Pastoral Co, Angellala Downs, Morven sold Santa Gertrudis cross cows to 370c/kg, reaching a top of $2,437 to average $2,054.
