Yarding 5708 Change 4530

Cattle were mostly drawn from the local supply area and the overall quality varied but included several larger quality single vendor lines. Steers accounted for over half of the yarding. A good buying panel that included a number of lot feeders and all regular processors was present and operating.

Overall the market saw mostly improvements from the previous week. Light weight steers under 200kg were in limited supply and sold to 764.2 c/kg while light weight steers under 280kg made to 772.2 c/kg. Medium weight steers under 330kg reached 736.2 c/kg while medium weight steers under 400kg made to 622.2 c/kg. Heavy weight steers reached a top of 542.2 c/kg. Light weight heifers under 200kg made to 600.2 c/kg while light weight heifers under 280kg made to 714.2 c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers under 330kg sold to 682.2 c/kg while medium weight yearling heifers under 400kg reached a top of 616.2 c/kg. Heavy weight heifers made to 530.2 c/kg. Heavy weight grown steers sold to a top of 414.2 c/kg while heavy weight grown heifers made to 400 c/kg. Medium weight prime cows reach 369.2 c/kg while heavy weight prime cows made to 392.2 c/kg. Heavy weight bulls sold to a top of 386.2 c/kg. The small number of cows and calves sold to $2,740/unit.

Weaner steers under 200kg topped at 764c/kg and averaged 727c/kg, weaner steers in the 200-280kg range reached 772c/kg and averaged 651c/kg. Steers in the 280-330kg range reached 736c/kg and averaged 608c/kg, and steers in the 330-400kg range reached 634c/kg and averaged 539c/kg. Feeder steers in the 400-500kg range topping at 542c/kg and averaging 484c/kg.
