Cattle were drawn from a wider supply area and a good panel of buyers was present and operating.

The overall quality of the yarding varied. Demand for quality lines of yearling cattle remained strong in isolated patches. Prices fluctuated across all categories.

The largest sample of light weight yearling steers under 280kg eased by 4c/kg. Medium weight yearling steers under 400kg to feed sold 15c/kg dearer.

The largest number of light weight yearling heifers under 280kg to restockers increased by 7c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers under 330kg to restockers sold 13c/kg. Medium weight 2 score cows deceased by 9c and the medium weight 3 score cows eased by 4c/kg. Heavy weight 2 and 3 score cows both increased by 8c/kg.

The largest sample of light weight yearling steers under 280kg to restockers sold to 300.2c to average 278c/kg. A fair sample of medium weight yearling steers under 400kg to feed sold to 326.2c to average 288c/kg.

A good sample of light weight yearling heifers under 280kg to restockers sold to 248.2c to average 237c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers under 330kg to restockers made to 246.2c to average 238c/kg. Heavy weight yearling heifers under 400kg to feed sold to 252.2c to average 252c/kg.

The best of the light weight grown steers sold to 258.2c to average 240c/kg. A good sample of grown heifers sold to 240c to average 219c/kg. Medium weight 2 score cows made to 185.2c to average 164c, while the medium weight 3 score cows sold to 213.2c to average 195c/kg. Heavy weight 2 score cows sold to 185c to average 176c and the heavy weight 3 score cows made to 218.2c to average 202c/kg.

The best of the light weight bulls under 450kg to live export made to 278.2c to average 265c/kg.

Weaner steers under 220kg topped at 308c/kg and averaged 263c/kg, weaner steers in the 220-280kg range reached 300c/kg and averaged 246c/kg.

Steers in the 280- 350kg range reached 294c/kg and averaged 263c/kg, and steers in the 350-400kg range reached 328c/kg and averaged 274c/kg. Feeder steers in the 400-550kg range topping at 298c/kg and averaging 265c/kg.

Chasewater Pty Ltd, Boomblar, Talwood sold Santa steers to 308c/kg, reaching a top of $799 to average $648. The Santa heifers sold to 228c/kg, reaching a top of $410 to average $408.

Tamarang Pastoral Co, Tamarang, Wallumbilla sold Angus steers to 300c/kg, reaching a top of $1,319 to average $1,216.

JP & LJ McAlister, Nylmah, Wandoan sold Charolais cross steers to 300c/kg, reaching a top of $828 to average $722. The Charolais cross heifers sold to 248c/kg, reaching a top of $1,056 to average $531.

EJ & CF Rolfe, Marie Downs, Roma sold Charolais cross steers to 296c/kg, reaching a top of $1,268 to average $1,034. The Charolais cross heifers sold to 245c/kg, reaching a top of $952 to average $893.

The Droughtmaster cross heifers sold to 228c/kg, reaching a top of $572 to average $410. Heifers under 220kg topped at 248c/kg and averaged 217c/kg, while heifers in the 220 – 280kg range topped at 248c/kg and averaged 205c/kg. Heifers in the 280- 350kg range topped at 251c/kg, averaging 220c/kg. Heifers in the 350-450kg range topped at 255c/kg, averaging 228c/kg.

Avoca Pastoral Co, Roma Feedlot, Roma sold Cross breed heifers to 252c/kg, reaching a top of $1,071 to average $707.
