Roma sale 17 June 2025: Solid market for 8232 head

Yarding: 8232 Change: +494

With increased numbers Roma Agents yarded 8232 head. All the regular processors feedlotters and backgrounders present and active. The market solid with finished bullocks well sought after as well as cows which improved on last sale. Another quality yarding of cattle penned.

Yearling steers under 200kg topped 422c/kg. Yearling steers 200 to 280kg sold from 306c to 470c/kg. Yearling steers 280 to 330kg  with the majority making to 432c to average 385c/kg. Yearling steers 330 to 400kg could not maintain the levels of last sale to make 420c/kg. Yearling steers 400 to 480kg made to 400c/kg to feed. Yearling steers over 480kg topped 388c/kg.

Yearling heifers 200 to 280kg sold to 362c/kg to restockers. Yearling heifers 280 to 330kg with the majority selling from 218c to 364c/kg for the better lines. Yearling heifers 330 to 400kg made to 374c to average 320c/kg to restockers. Yearling heifers 400 to 480kg topped 328c/kg to feed.

A small number of 400 to 500kg grown steers made to 402c to feed and 312c/kg to processors. Grown steers 500 to 600kg improved and sold to 386c to processors and 390ckg to feed. Bullocks over 600kg to 383c/kg to processors. Majority of heifers over 540kg topped 374c/kg.to average 337c/kg.

A very large yarding of well conditioned cows penned which improved almost 10c/kg on last sale. The 2 score cows sold from 194c to 230c to  restockers and 286c/kg to processors. The 3 score cows to 320c to average 297c/kg to processors. Young bulls to 450kg to 362c/kg. Bulls 450 to 600kg made to 288c/kg. Bulls over 600kg made to 310c and a pen of Euro bulls to 331c/kg.

A total of 8,232 head of cattle were consigned at Roma’s Store Sale on Tuesday.

Weaner steers under 200kg topped at 422c/kg and averaged 400c/kg, weaner steers in the 200-280kg range reached 470c/kg and averaged 434c/kg. Steers in the 280-330kg range reached 432c/kg and averaged 367c/kg, and steers in the 330-400kg range reached 420c/kg and averaged 367c/kg. Feeder steers in the 400-500kg range topped at 402c/kg and averaged 361c/kg.

Richard James Pye, Tenapera, Drillham sold Angus cross steers to 470c/kg, reaching a top of $1,466 to average $1,241.  The Angus cross heifers sold to 358c/kg, reaching a top of $941 to average $888.

Freeman Pastoral Company, Meeleebee Downs, Wallumbilla sold Santa Gertrudis cross steers to 470c/kg, reaching a top of $1,486 to average $839.  The Brahman cross heifers sold to 374c/kg, reaching a top of $1,707 to average $1,026.

GS & CJ White, Marionvale, Surat sold Charolais cross steers to 460c/kg, reaching a top of $1,284 to average $1,240.

AW & GWW Littleton, Burenda, Augathella sold Angus cross steers to 458c/kg, reaching a top of $1,438 to average $1,249.  The Angus cross heifers sold to 336c/kg, reaching a top of $907 to average $833.

JMA Grazing, Merrigang, Charleville sold Simmental cross steers to 454c/kg, reaching a top of $1,145 to average $1,145.

RF & DK Hams, Cooly, St George sold Charolais cross steers to 432c/kg, reaching a top of $1,528 to average $1,356.  The Charolais cross heifers sold to 362c/kg, reaching a top of $1,073 to average $1,063.

Bluegrass Holdings Trust P/L sold Charolais cross steers to 414c/kg, reaching a top of $1,687 to average $1,392.  The Droughtmaster cross heifers sold to 369c/kg, reaching a top of $2,065 to average $1,938.

LRC Grazing, Abbington, Ballaroo sold Angus cross steers to 410/kg, reaching a top of $1,248 to average $1,227.

Gooimbah Grazing Co, Gooimbah, Injune sold Angus steers to 390c/kg, reaching a top of $2,262 to average $2,159.

T & M Busiko, Lindon, Roma sold Angus steers to 389c/kg, reaching a top of $2,074 to average $1,741.

4 Hill Farming Pty Ltd, Thallon sold Santa Gertrudis cross steers to 386c/kg, reaching a top of $1,818 to average $1,652.

Benelgram Grazing Co, Balmacarra, Charleville sold Droughtmaster cross steers to 385c/kg, reaching a top of $2,209 to average $1,472.

York 6 Pty Ltd, Oakleigh, Wallumbilla sold Angus cross steers to 360c/kg, reaching a top of $2,019 to average $1,803.

 

Heifers under 200kg topped at 380c/kg and averaged 316c/kg, while heifers in the 200-280kg range topped at 364c/kg and averaged 318c/kg. Heifers in the 280-330kg range topped at 362c/kg, averaging 307c/kg. Heifers in the 330-400kg range topped at 360c/kg, averaging 306c/kg. Heifers in the 400-500kg range topped at 374c/kg, averaging 318c/kg.

Cluden Pastoral Pty Ltd, Red Range, Taroom sold Simmental cross heifers to 380c/kg, reaching a top of $1,202 to average $843.

LRB Briscoe, Injune sold Angus cross heifers to 374c/kg, reaching a top of $2,124 to average $1,886.

BM Packer Pty Ltd, Cooreela, Roma sold Charolais cross heifers to 360c/kg, reaching a top of $1,446 to average $1,218.

Cows in the 330-400kg range reached 250c/kg and averaged 187c/kg. Cows in the 400-500kg range topped at 280c/kg, averaging 238c/kg. Cows in the 500-600kg range topped at 315c/kg, averaging 284c/kg. Cows over 600kg topped at 320c/kg, averaging 305c/kg.

Reynella Grazing, Reynella, Charleville sold Simmental cross cows to 320c/kg, reaching a top of $2,102 to average $1,895.

Billin Grazing, Billin Station, Mungallala sold Shorthorn cross Cows & calves to $1,700, to average $1,508.
