GDL Mitchell Agent, Jason Belz with vendor David Sullivan of “Studley” Roma, sold 35 Angus Cross Bullocks which averaged 726.86kg. The Angus Cross Bullocks topped at 433.2c/kg, making $3,051.35/head, with all 35 to average $3,019.19/head.

Numbers fell to 2698 head at the Roma Store Sale. Cattle were drawn from a wide supply area, including Mt Isa and the overall quality was mixed. Numbers of heavy weight steers and bullocks were present. A good buying panel was present and operating, however one regular processor remained absent. The market continued to hold firm given quality, but overall the averages for steers and heifers eased, while strong processor competition saw cows improve.

Light weight steers under 200kg made to 718.2c/kg while light weight yearling steers under 280kg also made to 718.2 c/kg. Medium weight yearling steers under 330kg reached 656.2 c/kg while medium weight yearling steers under 400kg made to 648.2 c/kg. Heavy weight yearling steers reached a top of 550 c/kg. Light weight yearling heifers under 200kg made to 536.2 c/kg while light weight yearling heifers under 280kg made to 572.2 c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers under 330kg sold to 580.2 c/kg while medium weight yearling heifers under 400kg reached a top of 560.2 c/kg. Heavy weight yearling heifers made to 510.2 c/kg.

Medium weight prime cows made to 387.2 c/kg while heavy weight prime cows made to 391.2 c/kg. Heavy weight bulls made to 416.2 c/kg. Cows and calves sold to a top of $3,025/unit.

Weaner steers under 200kg topped at 718c/kg and averaged 718c/kg, weaner steers in the 200-280kg range reached 718c/kg and averaged 630c/kg. Steers in the 280-330kg range reached 656c/kg and averaged 552c/kg, and steers in the 330-400kg range reached 648c/kg and averaged 552c/kg. Feeder steers in the 400-500kg range topping at 550c/kg and averaging 463c/kg.

Wayne Scrivern, Hawthorne, Dulacca sold Angus cross steers to 712c/kg, reaching a top of $1,812 to average $1,812.

Mark & Carolyn Redgen, The Rockies, Roma sold Red Angus cross steers to 670c/kg, reaching a top of $2,039 to average $1,870. The Red Angus cross heifers sold to 572c/kg, reaching a top of $1,592 to average $1,460.

BR Sinnamon, Tin Hut, Jackson sold Brangus steers to 648c/kg, reaching a top of $2,174 to average $2,174.

MF Gadsby, Rocky Hills, Morven sold Angus steers to 610c/kg, reaching a top of $1,915 to average $1,773.

FG & R Dunn, Megine, Roma sold Santa Gertrudis steers to 604c/kg, reaching a top of $2,242 to average $2,204.

Cows in the 330-400kg range reached 382c/kg and averaged 329c/kg. Cows in the 400- 500kg range topped at 387c/kg, averaging 361c/kg. Cows in the 500-600kg range topped at 402c/kg, averaging 372c/kg. Cows over 600kg topped at 390c/kg, averaging 374c/kg.

M & K Hudson, Tongy, Mitchell sold Droughtmaster cross cows to 402c/kg, reaching a top of $2,440 to average $2,103.

Australian Country Choice, Toarki, Eumamurrin sold Angus cross cows to 391c/kg, reaching a top of $2,571 to average $2,087.

RD & NJ Statham, Possession Creek, Mitchell sold Santa Gertrudis cross cows to 390c/kg, reaching a top of $2,562 to average $2,391.

Inglegreen, NSW sold Brahman cross cow and calves to $3,025 to average $3,025.
