A mixed yarding of quality however there were some good runs of better cattle.

Many pens were painted-out assortments allowing buyers to be selective throughout the process to fill their quotas as they were all present and operating. An example of quality being rewarded was four pens of steers averaging 450kg making to 396.2c to average 355c/kg.

Calves under 200kg made to 432c/kg. The bulk of the weaner steers were in the 280-350kg range and made to a top of 380.2c to average 341c/kg.

Heifers made to a top of 362.2c to average 277c/kg across the board. Bulls to slaughter made to a top of 350c, while fat cows to slaughter were back heavily struggling at times to reach 230c/kg average.

Cows with calves at foot made to $1,300/unit, back significantly on recent pricing.

A total of 6,745 head of cattle were consigned at Roma’s Store Sale on Tuesday.

Weaner steers under 220kg topped at 432c/kg and averaged 368c/kg, and weaner steers in the 220-280kg range reached 401c/kg and averaged 364c/kg. Steers in the 280-350kg range reached 380c/kg and averaged 340c/kg, and steers in the 350-400kg range reached 364c/kg and averaged 317c/kg. Feeder steers in the 400-550kg range topping at 340c/kg and averaging 296c/kg.
