The yarding contained mixed quality lines from the usual supply areas and several large consignments from Central West and
North West Queensland areas.

Heavy weight yearling steers found extra feedlot buyer competition this week, while the quality of weaner light weight yearling steers was mixed. Medium weight yearling heifers to feed remained firm in price and restocker buyers were active on light weight yearling heifers for crop or paddock backgrounding.

Light weight yearling steers reached 207c and averaged 187c, down 16c, while plainer sorts averaged 160c, up 5c/kg. Medium
weight yearling steers to feed made to 188c and averaged 181c, up 7c, while those returning to the paddock hit 198c and
averaged 188c, down 2c/kg. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed made to 198c and averaged 187c, up 4c/kg. Light weight
yearling heifers to feedlot buyers topped at 156c and averaged 140c, down 1c, while those to processors earned to 136c and
averaged 126c, unchanged in price, and those to restocker buyers sold to 169c and averaged 144c, up 12c/kg. Medium weight
yearling heifers to feed hit 163c and averaged 152c/kg, unchanged in price.

The grown heifers sold between 126c and 178c/kg. The medium weight grown heifers to feed sold to 145c and averaged
136c/kg. Light and medium weight 2 score cows sold to 92c and averaged between 72c and 83c, up 6c/kg. Those to restockers
sold around 100c/kg. Medium weight 3 score cows reached 117c and averaged 106c, down 9c/kg. Cows and calves sold to
$430/unit.

Weekly Roma Store Sale Press Report:

A total of 9325 head of cattle were penned at Roma’s Store Sale.

Weaners under 220kg topped at 200c/kg and averaged 167c/kg, while weaner steers in the 220-280kg range reached 204c/kg and averaged 174c/kg. Steers in the 280-350kg range reached 207c/kg and averaged 172c/kg, and steers in the 350-400kg range reached 198c/kg and averaged 174c/kg. Feeder steers in the 400-550kg range topping at 198c/kg and averaging 169c/kg.

Golden Pastoral Holdings, Nullin, Yuleba, sold Charolais-cross steers to 202c/kg for 297kg to return $600/head. The Hereford-cross heifers sold to 159c for 338kg to return $538.

E & C Rolfe, Marie Downs, Roma, sold Charolais-cross steers to 200c for 328kg to return $657. The Charolais-cross heifers sold to 169c for 331kg to return $560.

J, M, & T Gallagher, Dunwaiten, Surat, sold Droughtmaster-cross steers to 198c for 421kg to return $835.

Bundulla Grazing, Brenian, Roma, sold Droughtmaster steers to 198c for 396kg to return $785. The Brangus heifers sold to 162c for 389kg to return $631.

Dalco Pastoral, Sugarloaf, Wallumbilla, sold Simmental-cross steers to 197c for 295kg to return $583. The Simmental-cross heifers sold to 162c for 316kg to return $512.

Jimmy Ford, Roma, sold Charolais-cross steers to 196c for 336kg to return $660. The Charolais-cross heifers sold to 160c for 301kg to return $481.

Maranoa Grazing Co, Kokoda, Mitchell, sold Angus-cross steers to 196c for 215kg to return $422.

DC Diamond Pastoral, Mirri Mirri, Hannaford, sold Charbray steers to 195c for 431kg to return $842.

Yacca Grazing Co, Yacca, Injune, sold Charolais steers to 160c for 285kg to return $456. The Charolais-cross heifers sold to 156c for 348kg to return $544.

Heifers in the 350-450kg range reached 163c/kg and averaged 141c/kg.Heifers in the 280-350kg range topped at 169c/kg and averaged 141c/kg.Heifers in the 220-280kg range topped at 168c/kg and averaged 133c/kg, while heifers under 220kg topped at 156c/kg and averaged 120c/kg.

Gwenbrook Farms, Gwenbrook, Roma, sold Charolais heifers to 168c for 287kg to return $484.

B & D Cooke, Turana, Meandarra, sold Simbrah heifers to 161c for 306kg to return $494.

B & N Bauer, Arlington, Augathella, sold Charolais-cross heifers to 148c for 262kg to return $388.

Cows over 500kg sold to 124c/kg and averaged 109c/kg, while cows 400-500kg topped at reached 131c/kg and averaged 100c/kg. Cows in the 300-400kg sold to 115c/kg and averaged 85c/kg.

Bulls up to 400kg reached 148c/kg and average 117c/kg.
