Roma Store 4 June 2013: Light steers hit 211c

A total of 6500 head of cattle were penned at Roma’s Store Sale on Tuesday.

Weaners under 220kg topped at 211c/kg and averaged 184c/kg, while weaner steers in the 220-280kg range reached 204c/kg and averaged 176c/kg. Steers in the 280-350kg range reached 189c/kg and averaged 164c/kg, and steers in the 350-

400kg range reached 172c/kg and averaged 150c/kg. Feeder steers in the 400-550kg range topping at 169c/kg and averaging 149c/kg.

Andrews Rural Holdings, Nimboy Station, Cooladdi, sold Charolais-cross steers to 208c/kg for 170kg to return $355/head and 211c for 141kg to make $298. 

Christensen Rural, Pinnacle, Roma, sold EU Angus steers to 204c for 274kg to return $559. They also sold Santa heifers to 143c for 248kg to make $355.

Lachlan Bryant, Albury, Mungallala, sold Angus-cross steers to 196c for 169kg to make $332.

Wallabella, Wallumbilla, sold Brangus-cross steers to 193c for 228kg to return $441.

Gwenbrook Farms Pastoral Co, Roma, sold Charolais-cross steers to 189c for 292kg to return $552. They also sold Charolais heifers to 160c for 263kg to make $420.

Glentulloch Grazing Co, Injune, sold Droughtmaster-cross steers to 181c/kg for 312kg to return $566. They also sold Droughtmaster-cross heifers to 150c for 325kg to make $488.

The McNamee family, Gambier Park, Surat, sold Angus-cross steers to 180c for 345kg to return $622.

NJ Roberts, Sydeva, Yuleba, sold Angus-cross steers to 180c for 225kg to make $406.

The Baker family, Jansue, Jackson, sold Charolais-cross steers to 172c for 345kg to make $594. They also sold Charolais-cross heifers to 149c for 332kg to return $495.

Dart Pastoral Co, Thirlstone, Roma, sold Charbray steers to 171c for 351kg to return $600.

Mt Rourke Pastoral Co, Winton, sold Droughtmaster-cross steers to 166c for 286kg to make $476.

China State Farms, Noella Station, Charleville, sold Charolais-cross steers to 165c for 312kg to return $515.

Heifers in the 350-450kg range reached 156c/kg and averaged 131c/kg.

Heifers in the 280-350kg range topped at 166c/kg and averaged 142c/kg.

Heifers in the 220-280kg range topped at 160c/kg and averaged 143c/kg, while heifers under 220kg topped at 160c/kg and averaged 144c/kg.

KC Chandler, Glentulloch, Injune, sold EU Brangus-cross heifers to 156c for 370kg to make $579.  

Cows over 500kg hit 130c/kg and averaged 103c/kg, while cows 400-500kg topped at 112c/kg and averaged 89c/kg. Cows in the 300-400kg sold to 106c/kg and averaged 74c/kg.

Cows and calves sold to $670/unit.

Bulls up to 400kg reached 172c/kg and average 125c/kg.
