Weekly Roma Store Sale press report:

A total of 8500 head of cattle were penned at Roma’s Store Sale on Tuesday.

Weaners under 220kg topped at 188c/kg and averaged 153c/kg, while weaner steers in the 220-280kg range reached 176c/kg and averaged 153c/kg. Steers in the 280-350kg range reached 178c/kg and averaged 150c/kg, and steers in the 350-400kg range reached 165c/kg and averaged 145c/kg. Feeder steers in the 400-550kg range topping at 157c/kg and averaging 143c/kg.

Glenorie Grazing Co, Morven, sold Santa-cross steers to 188c/kg for 189c to return $356/head.

John Hudson, Maranoa Downs, Mitchell, sold Angus-cross steers to 188c for 183kg to make $345.

Maller Pastoral Co, Seven Trees, Wallumbilla, sold EU Santa-cross steers to 178c for 310kg to return $553.

The Cowper family, Merino Downs, Aramac, sold Santa-cross steers to 176c for 221kg to return $389.

Mt Rourke Pastoral Co, Boolbie, Winton, sold Droughtmaster steers to 174c for 200kg to make $348.

Woonoona Pastoral Co, Roma, sold Angus steers to 173c for 278kg to return $483.

The Smith family, Openbah, Dirranbandi, sold Simmental-cross steers to 171c for 322kg to make $552.

Peel Northampton Downs, Blackall, sold Charolais-cross steers to 171c for 232kg to return $398. They also sold Santa-cross heifers to 152c for 318kg to make $484.

The Martyn family, Canowinora, Roma, sold Charolais-cross steers to 170c for 343kg to return $584. They also sold Charolais-cross heifers to 158c for 287kg to make $454.

Lighthouse Pastoral Co, Wallumbilla, sold Hereford steers to 170c for 342kg to return $583. They also sold Hereford-cross heifers to 158c for 393kg to make $622.

The White family, Roma, sold Charolais-cross steers to 170c for 312kg to return $531. They also sold Charolais-cross heifers to 153c for 287kg to make $439.

The Halliday family, The Chequers, Dulacca, sold Droughtmaster steers to 168c for 243kg to return $409.

Bungoona Pastoral Co, Longreach, sold Charolais-cross steers to 165c for 377kg to make $623. They also sold Charolais-cross heifers to 143c for 349kg to return $500.

Jimmy Ford, Roma, sold Charolais-cross steers to 165c for 317kg to make $523. He also sold Charolais-cross heifers to 158c for 278kg to return $439.

The Vetter family, Cooladdi Park, Cooladdi, sold Droughtmaster-cross steers to 157c for 320kg to make $503.

Livistona Grazing, Palm Vista, Taroom, sold Droughtmaster-cross steers to 151c for 452kg to return $683.

Heifers in the 350-450kg range reached 158c/kg and averaged 128c/kg.

Heifers in the 280-350kg range topped at 162c/kg and averaged 126c/kg.

Heifers in the 220-280kg range topped at 161c/kg and averaged 128c/kg, while heifers under 220kg topped at 164c/kg and averaged 134c/kg.

S Kidman & Co, Durham Downs, Eromanga, sold Santa heifers for 164c for 161kg to return $264.

Smit Farming, Boondarra, Roma, sold Charolais-cross heifers to 162c for 303kg to make $492.

The Scott family, Mayfield South, Roma, sold Charolais-cross heifers to 156c for 284kg to return $444.

Meatant Cattle, Newcome, Augathella, sold Droughtmaster-cross heifers to 154c for 324kg to return $500.

Ridgelands Grazings, Injune, sold Charolais heifers to 147c for 390kg to make $574.

The Graham family, Roma, sold Droughtmaster-cross heifers to 141c for 312kg to make $441.

Cows over 500kg hit 117c/kg and averaged 100c/kg, while cows 400-500kg topped at 112c/kg and averaged 84c/kg. Cows in the 300-400kg sold to 83c/kg and averaged 69c/kg.

Tumbar Grazing Co, Tumbar, Jericho, sold PTIC cows to $580/head and averaged $535/head.

Walker & Co, Tulmur, Winton, sold PTIC Santa cows to $700/head and averaged $495/head.

Cows and calves sold to $780/unit and averaged $548/unit.

Bulls up to 400kg reached 125c/kg and average 88c/kg.
