Roma Store Sale NLRS market commentary:
Yarding 7406 Change -3647
The flow of good numbers of store cattle continued this week. A full panel of feedlot buyers were operating, but a plainer yarding of heavier steers resulted in heavy weight yearling steers falling in price. Good quality lines of medium weight steers were yarded and prices remained mostly firm. Good numbers of restockers were in attendance at the sale and solid competition held good quality light weight steer prices firm and lifted light weight yearling heifer prices by 3c/kg. Overall, some plainer conditioned steers from central and north parts of Queensland brought averages down by 6c to 9c for light weight yearling steers. Cows and calves sold to $1110/unit.
Light weight yearling steers made to 274c and averaged 251c, down 6c, while slightly heavier sorts made to 260c and averaged 242c, down 9c/kg.
