Roma Saleyards weekly Roma store cattle sale press report: 

Hayden, Jacob, William, and Kirsty Luck with little baby, Lillee Cook, at Romaâ??s Store Sale in Tuesday. The Luck family sold a line of Hereford-cross heifers through Landmark Roma.A total yarding of 5550 head of cattle was penned at Roma’s Store Sale on Tuesday.

A good number of buyers were in attendance with all the usual commission buyers and some extra local restocker buyers present.

Weaners under 220kg topped at 184c/kg and averaged 152c/kg, while weaner steers in the 220-280kg range reached 198c/kg and averaged 164c/kg. Steers in the 280-350kg range reached 190c/kg and averaged 161c/kg, and steers in the 350-400kg range reached 170c/kg and averaged 156c/kg. Feeder steers in the 400-550kg range topping at 169c/kg and averaging 159c/kg.

The Russell family, Wodonga, Mungalalla, sold Charolais-cross steers to 198c/kg for 225kg to make $445/head.

Lowan Hills Pastoral Co, Mitchell, sold Santa-cross steers to 190c for 338kg to return $644.

Longford, Glenholme, McKinlay, sold Charolais-cross steers to 187c for 281kg to make $527.

The Gobbert family, Amboola, Mitchell, sold Charolais-cross steers to 181c for 278kg to make $504.

The Glassen family, Coopers Run, Blackall, sold Santa steers to 180c for 339kg to make $612.

Livistona Grazing, Palm Vista, Taroom, sold Droughtmaster steers to 169c for 417kg to return $706. 

Bungoona Pastoral Co, Longreach, sold Charolais-cross steers to 169c for 367kg to make $621. They also sold Charolais-cross heifers to 158c for 460kg to return $727.

The Curran family, Talleyrand, Longreach, sold Santa-cross steers to 166c for 370kg to return $615.

Heifers in the 350-450kg range reached 160c/kg and averaged 149c/kg.

Heifers in the 280-350kg range topped at 160c/kg and averaged 139c/kg.

Heifers in the 220-280kg range topped at 164c/kg and averaged 140c/kg, while heifers under 220kg topped at 164c/kg and averaged 137c/kg.

S Kidman, Naryilco Station, Tibooburra, sold Shorthorn-cross heifers to 162c for 267kg to return $433.

The Burns family, Willa Park, Wallumbilla, sold Droughtmaster-cross heifers to 150c for 340kg to make $510.

Cows over 500kg hit 137c/kg and averaged 132c/kg, while cows 400-500kg topped at 135c/kg and averaged 120c/kg. Cows in the 300-400kg sold to 130c/kg and averaged 83c/kg.

Cows and calves sold to $750/unit.

Bulls up to 400kg reached 164c/kg and average 135c/kg.
