Weekly Roma Store sale press report from Roma Saleyards:
A total yarding of 7830 head of cattle was penned at Roma’s Store Sale on Tuesday. It was a mixed quality yarding.
Weaners under 220kg topped at 204c/kg and averaged 161c/kg, while weaner steers in the 220-280kg range reached 204c/kg and averaged 175c/kg. Steers in the 280-350kg range reached 195c/kg and averaged 166c/kg, and steers in the 350-400kg range reached 186c/kg and averaged 167c/kg. Feeder steers in the 400-550kg range topping at 172c/kg and averaging 166c/kg.
Quintana & Co, Rockybank, Roma, sold Angus-cross steers to 204c/kg for 270kg to return $552/head. They also sold Angus-cross heifers to 168c for 255kg to make $429.
The Douglas family, Springfield, Mitchell, sold Droughtmaster steers to 204c for 258kg to make $527.
Dalco Pastoral, Sugarloaf, Wallumbilla, sold Droughtmaster-cross steers to 195c for 312kg to return $610.
Winnathoola Pastoral Co, Wallumbilla, sold Droughtmaster steers to 192c for 308kg to make $593. They also sold Droughtmaster heifers to 163c for 298kg to return $486.
The Packer family sold Charolais-cross steers to 188c for 314kg to make $591. They also sold Charolais-cross heifers to 156c for 331kg to $518.
The Lord family. Kilterry, Julia Creek, sold Santa steers to 186c for 332kg to return $618.
Dumfries Grazing Co, Muckadilla, sold Charolais-cross steers to 184c for 287kg to make $530.
The Beitz family, Middleridge, Amby, sold Brahman-cross steers to 182c for 350kg to return $637. They also sold Santa-cross heifers to 152c for 312kg to make $475.
Neven Grazing Co, Bindar, Injune, sold Droughtmaster steers to 170c for 403kg to make $687.
The Ferguson family, Annie Vale, Roma, sold Santa steers to 169c for 501kg to return $847.
The Hicks family, Enfield, Mitchell, sold Charolais-cross steers to 167c for 543kg to make $909.
The Perkins family, Nimities Lagoon, Eumamurrin, sold Charbray steers to 167c for 476kg to make $796.
Malcolm McClymont, Maneroo, Longreach, sold Charbray-cross steers to 166c for 401kg to return $666.
Heifers in the 350-450kg range reached 163c/kg and averaged 143c/kg.
Heifers in the 280-350kg range topped at 166c/kg and averaged 144c/kg.
Heifers in the 220-280kg range topped at 168c/kg and averaged 145c/kg, while heifers under 220kg topped at 162c/kg and averaged 152c/kg.
The Hoolihan family, Elmsdale, Ilfracombe, sold Angus-cross heifers to 166c for 332kg to make $552.
