Weekly Roma Store Cattle Sale press report
A total of 10,400 cattle were penned at Roma’s store sale on Tuesday.
Weaners under 220kg topped at 192c/kg and averaged 164c/kg, while weaner steers in the 220-280kg range reached 190c/kg and averaged 164c/kg. Steers in the 280-350kg range reached 189c/kg and averaged 164c/kg, and steers in the 350-400kg range reached 177c/kg and averaged 157c/kg. Feeder steers in the 400-550kg range topping at 173c/kg and averaging 158c/kg.
Warbreccan Pastoral Co, Stonehenge, sold Santa steers to 192c/kg for 134kg to return $259/head.
Bracco Cattle Co, Amaroo, Roma, sold Angus steers to 188c for 288kg to make $543. They also sold Hereford heifers to 161c for 291kg to return $469.
The McFadzen family, Farmleigh, Mitchell, sold Charolais steers to 186c for 310kg to return $578. They also sold Brangus heifers to 162c for 272kg to make $441.
The Jones family, Evergreen, Injune, sold Charolais-cross steers to 186c for 280kg to return $521. They also sold Charolais-cross heifers to 158c for 406kg to make $406.
The Phillips family, Currawong, Mitchell, sold Charolais-cross steers to 184c for 318kg to return $586. They also sold Charolais-cross heifers to 164c for 287kg to make $472.

Cows over 500kg hit 129c/kg and averaged 111c/kg, while cows 400-500kg topped at 122c/kg and averaged 103c/kg. Cows in the 300-400kg sold to 119c/kg and averaged 96c/kg.
Cows and calves sold to $600/unit.
Bulls up to 400kg reached 169c/kg and average 123c/kg.
