Roma Saleyards Association weekly Roma Store Sale press report:

A total yarding of 7900 head of cattle was penned at Roma’s Store Sale on Tuesday. It was a mixed quality yarding with a number of cattle drawn from South-West parts of Queensland.

Weaners under 220kg topped at 200c/kg and averaged 161c/kg, while weaner steers in the 220-280kg range reached 196c/kg and averaged 159c/kg. Steers in the 280-350kg range reached 196c/kg and averaged 154c/kg, and steers in the 350-400kg range reached 180c/kg and averaged 158c/kg. Feeder steers in the 400-550kg range topping at 167c/kg and averaging 160c/kg.

Verastan Grazing, Muttaburra, sold Charolais-cross steers to 200c/kg for 208kg to make $417/head.

The Hindle family, Roma, sold Angus-cross steers to 196c for 285kg to return $560.

The Thornton family, Westlyn, Morven, sold Charolais steers to 185c for 307kg to make $569. They also sold Charolais heifers to 147c for 244kg to return $359.

Clinton Melcer, Myo, Injune, sold Charolais steers to 180c for 390kg to return $702. He also sold Charolais heifers to 142c for 268kg to make $382.

Kev Bredhauer, Rosevale, Wyandra, sold Charolais steers to 180c for 261kg to make $470.

Clark & Tait, Powella, Aramac, sold Santa steers to 179c and averaged 169c for 344kg to make $582 for their entire consignment.

The Adams family, Rostrevor, Blackall, sold Murray Grey steers to 170c for 341kg to return $581. They also sold Murray Grey-cross heifers to 152c for 314kg to make $478.

Reynella Grazing Co, Charleville, sold Droughtmaster-cross steers to 167c for 477kg to return $798.

The Jones family, Norolle, Roma, sold Charolais steers to 161c for 449kg to make $724.

Heifers in the 350-450kg range reached 160c/kg and averaged 135c/kg.

Heifers in the 280-350kg range topped at 163c/kg and averaged 140c/kg.

Heifers in the 220-280kg range topped at 158c/kg and averaged 135c/kg, while heifers under 220kg topped at 178c/kg and averaged 137c/kg.

S Kidman & Co, Morney Plains, Windorah, sold Santa heifers to 178c for 169kg to make $301.

Gowrie Pastoral Co, Mitchell Downs, Mitchell, sold Simbrah heifers to 150c for 340kg to make $510.

The Taylor family, Saramac Downs, Wallumbilla, sold Simmental-cross heifers to 145c for 346kg to return $503.

Sunbury Pastoral Co, Isisford, sold Charolais-cross heifers to 143c for 337kg to make $483.

Cows over 500kg hit 142c/kg and averaged 125c/kg, while cows 400-500kg topped at 131c/kg and averaged 111c/kg. Cows in the 300-400kg sold to 120c/kg and averaged 91c/kg.

Cows and calves sold to $810/unit.

Currawarra Pastoral Co, Mitchell, sold Santa cows and calves to $810/unit.

Bulls up to 400kg reached 188c/kg and average 118c/kg.
