Roma Store 12 Nov 2013: Heavy feeder steers to 194c

A total of 4166 head of cattle were penned at Roma’s Store Sale on Tuesday.

Weaners under 220kg topped at 192c/kg and averaged 164c/kg, while weaner steers in the 220-280kg range reached 196c/kg and averaged 167c/kg. Steers in the 280-350kg range reached 186c/kg and averaged 159c/kg, and steers in the 350-400kg range reached 178c/kg and averaged 159c/kg. Feeder steers in the 400-550kg range topping at 194c/kg and averaging 186c/kg.

J & K Bock, Kilto, Wandoan, sold Cross Bred steers to 196c/kg for 263kg to return $516/head with the consignment averaging 190c for 258kg to make $490. The Cross Bred heifers to 152c for 271kg to return $413 with the consignment averaging 141c for 265kg to make $374.

G & K Ladbrook, Bulah, Yuleba, sold Brangus-cross steers to 194c for 460kg to return $894.

D, A, & R Mackay, Beau View, Wallumbilla, sold Santa-cross steers to 192c for 501kg to return $963 with the consignment averaging 192c for 480kg to make $924. 

S & M Russell, Wodonga, Mungalalla, sold Charbray steers to 192c for 195kg to return $375 with the consignment averaging 187c for 176kg to make $329. The Charbray heifers sold to 150c for 173kg to return $260 with the consignment averaging 150c for 163kg to make $245. 

G & G Emery, Wyena, Wallumbilla, sold Santa-cross steers to 190c for 236kg to return $449.

R & S Pether, Roseneath Station, Longreach, sold Angus-cross steers to 184c for 280kg to return $515 with the consignment averaging 180c for 245kg to make $442. The Angus heifers sold to 146c for 262kg to return $383 with the consignment averaging 141c for 230kg to make $324.  

N & S Courtice, Ladas Downs, Glenmorgan, sold Angus-cross steers to 184c for 262kg to return $483 with the consignment averaging 181c for 246kg to make $446. The Angus-cross heifers sold to 164c for 208kg to return $341 with the consignment averaging 157c for 224kg to make $352.

A & K Day, Jaccondoll, Barcaldine, sold Charbray steers to 184c for 223kg to return $411 with the consignment averaging 184c for 205kg to make $378. The Charbray heifers sold to 142c for 225kg to return $320 with the consignment averaging 141c for 202kg to make $285. 

Rolf Park North, Orinya, Quilpie, sold Braford-cross steers to 181c for 240kg to return $434 with the consignment averaging 168c for 247kg to make $417. The Braford-cross heifers sold to 143c for 215kg to return $308 with the consignment averaging 141c for 214kg to make $303.

Heifers in the 350-450kg range reached 159c/kg and averaged 155c/kg.

Heifers in the 280-350kg range topped at 158c/kg and averaged 144c/kg.

Heifers in the 220-280kg range topped at 164c/kg and averaged 139c/kg, while heifers under 220kg topped at 164c/kg and averaged 144c/kg.

S Kidman & Co, Glengyle Station, Birdsville, sold Santa-cross heifers to 164c for 250kg to return $410 with the consignment averaging 155c for 194kg to make $301.

Currawilla Pastoral Co, Currawilla, Windorah, sold Brahman heifers to 158c for 433kg to return $686 with the consignment averaging 154c for 364kg to make $560.

R & M Quinlan, Yanna, Charleville, sold Angus-cross heifers to 141c for 226kg to return $320 with the consignment averaging 136c for 203kg to make $275.

Cows over 500kg hit 152c/kg and averaged 138c/kg, while cows 400-500kg topped at 146c/kg and averaged 126c/kg. Cows in the 300-400kg sold to 132c/kg and averaged 93c/kg.

Cows and calves sold to $620/unit.

W Holzwart, Emerald, sold Charolais-cross cows to $620/unit.

Bulls up to 400kg reached 160c/kg and average 133c/kg.
