Roma Combined Agents weekly Roma store sale press report:

A very large yarding of 10,520 head of cattle was penned at Roma’s Store Sale on Tuesday. The yarding consisted of some very good quality lines of cattle and a full panel of cattle buyers was present and operating.

Weaners under 220kg topped at 218c/kg and averaged 188c/kg, while weaner steers in the 220-280kg range reached 209c/kg and averaged 180c/kg. Steers in the 280-350kg range reached 200c/kg and averaged 175c/kg, and steers in the 350-400kg range reached 196c/kg and averaged 174c/kg. Feeder steers in the 400-550kg range topping at 179c/kg and averaging 171c/kg.

Pensini Grazing, Cameron Downs, Hughenden, sold Charolais-cross steers to 209c/kg for 245kg to make $513/head. They also sold Charbray heifers to 164c for 383kg to return $629.

Lighthouse Pastoral Co, Roma, sold Angus steers to 208c and sold a pen of steers to 200c for 294kg to return $588.

Ball & Company, Strangford, Longreach, sold Droughtmaster steers to 207c for 232kg to return $481.

The Allen family, Huttonview, Injune, sold Charolais-cross steers to 190c for 253kg to make $481.

Dallawaii Holdings, Gracemere, Mitchell, sold Santa steers to 185c for 313kg to make $579.

Moonya Pastoral Co, Roma, sold Brangus steers to 182c for 360kg to return $656.

Ashman Grazing, Escombe Downs, Winton, sold Braford steers to 180c for 336kg to make $605. They also sold Braford steers to 206c for 224kg to return $463. 

Geoff Munday, Laretburn, Roma, sold Droughtmaster steers to 180c for 294kg to return $529. They also sold Droughtmaster heifers to 158c for 390kg to return $616.

The Kadel family, Pamaroo, Roma, sold Limousin-cross steers to 175c for 409kg to make $717.

The Nichol family, Ridgewell, Roma, sold Braford steers to 175c for 384kg to return $672.

Gwenbrook Farms, Roma, sold Santa-cross steers to 171c for 537kg to make $920.

Heifers in the 350-450kg range reached 200c/kg and averaged 154c/kg.

Heifers in the 280-350kg range topped at 172c/kg and averaged 153c/kg.

Heifers in the 220-280kg range topped at 179c/kg and averaged 155c/kg, while heifers under 220kg topped at 180c/kg and averaged 154c/kg.

Ray Mayne, Olivia, Roma, sold Droughtmaster-cross steers to 171c for 432kg to return $740.

The Maunder family, Macarra, Wallumbilla, sold a lead pen of Charolais-cross heifers to 171c for 348kg to make $595.

Mt. Enniskillen Pastoral Co, Blackall, sold Santa heifers to 170c for 328kg to return $558.

Brett Conroy, Penrose, Roma, sold Droughtmaster heifers to 164c for 349kg to make $574.

Broadford Pastoral Co, Hughenden, sold Braford heifers to 159c for 297kg to return $472.

Wongabel Grazing Co, Surat, sold Droughtmaster heifers to 158c for 361kg to return $572.

Cows over 500kg hit 143c/kg and averaged 133c/kg, while cows 400-500kg topped at 152c/kg and averaged 118c/kg. Cows in the 300-400kg sold to 152c/kg and averaged 115c/kg.

Cows and calves sold to $790/unit.

Bulls up to 400kg reached 166c/kg and average 147c/kg.
