Roma Store 11 Dec 2013: Yarding returns to 10,000 head

A total of 10,000 head of cattle were penned at Roma’s Store Sale on Tuesday.

Weaners under 220kg topped at 201c/kg and averaged 160c/kg, while weaner steers in the 220-280kg range reached 202c/kg and averaged 171c/kg. Steers in the 280-350kg range reached 202c/kg and averaged 182c/kg, and steers in the 350-400kg range reached 201c/kg and averaged 190c/kg. Feeder steers in the 400-550kg range topping at 196c/kg and averaging 183c/kg.

B & J Crawley, Hillview, Bungunya, sold EU Angus-cross steers to 201c/kg for 351kg to return $707/head with the consignment averaging 202c for 322kg to make $649.
Lunar Pastoral Company, Weeallah, St George, sold Charolais-cross steers to 201c for 204kg to return $410 with the consignment averaging 191c for 195kg to make $373.

Rosemount Grazing Co, Rosemount, Barcaldine, sold Charbray steers to 200c for 293kg to return $587 with the consignment averaging 187c for 289kg to make $540. The Charolais-cross heifers sold to 155c for 229kg to return $355 with the consignment averaging 137c for 243kg to make $333.

C Flower & Co, Roma, sold Santa-cross steers to 199c for 384kg to return $765 with the consignment averaging 195c for 344kg to make $671.
Maranda Pastoral Co, Maranda, Barcaldine, sold Charbray steers to 198c for 255kg to return $504 with the consignment averaging 191c for 231kg to make $441.

S Kidman & Co, Durham Downs, Eromanga, sold Santa-cross steers to 198c for 235kg to return $465 with the consignment averaging 175c for 178kg to make $299. The Santa heifers sold to 144c for 280kg to return $403 with the consignment averaging 143c for 149kg to make $198.

Rosehearty Grazing Co, Koonong Downs, Muckadilla, sold Santa steers to 196c for 400kg to return $786 with the consignment averaging 187c for 460kg to make $860. The Santa-cross heifers sold to 173c for 401kg to return $695 with the consignment averaging 163c for 394kg to make $643.

Perrett Cattle Co, Tunis, Injune, sold Charbray steers to 194c for 390kg to return $757 with the consignment averaging 192c for 388kg to make $744.

A & K Mills, Adavale, Boggabilla, sold Angus-cross steers to 192c for 348kg to return $669 with the consignment averaging 182c for 302kg to make $551. The Brangus-cross heifers sold to 169c for 321kg to return $544 with the consignment averaging 158c for 285kg to make $449.

Wondolin Pastoral Co, Wondolin, Wallumbilla, sold Hereford-cross steers to 192c for 312kg to return $600 with the consignment averaging 177c for 283kg to make $500. 

Price & Grainger Enterprises, Yarrowee, Mungindi, sold Charolais steers to 190c for 248kg to return $471 with the consignment averaging 184c for 245kg to make $451. The Charolais-cross heifers sold to 151c for 255kg to return $385 with the consignment averaging 150c for 218kg to make $326.

A & N Evans, Martindale, Walgett, sold Angus steers to 186c for 370kg to return $688 with the consignment averaging 184c for 303kg to make $557. The Angus heifers sold to 178c for 356kg to return $635 with the consignment averaging 174c for 320kg to make $555.

Heifers in the 350-450kg range reached 178c/kg and averaged 152c/kg. Heifers in the 280-350kg range topped at 178c/kg and averaged 151c/kg. Heifers in the 220-280kg range topped at 161c/kg and averaged 133c/kg, while heifers under 220kg topped at 188c/kg and averaged 130c/kg.

S & N Ward, Taringa, Injune, sold Charolais-cross heifers to 164c for 304kg to return $499 with the consignment averaging 150c for 295kg to make $441.

Cows over 500kg N/A, while cows 400-500kg topped at 133c/kg and averaged 114c/kg. Cows in the 300-400kg sold to 125c/kg and averaged 102c/kg.
Cows and calves sold to $700/unit.

Bulls up to 400kg reached 190c/kg and average 146c/kg.
