Breeding females
The breeding females saw solid week-on-week price gains in most categories, following some substantial falls last week.
Among the better-represented categories, PTIC heifers cleared only 16pc of an offering of 1300, but for those that managed to find a buyer, prices lifted $166 to average $1748. It was a similar story for the 1700 PTIC cows offered, that cleared only 39pc, with prices rising $199 to average $1849.
The PTIC female results reflected that even in a market that is on the up, vendor/agent expectations are out of step with the market.
