Yarding 1800 Change + 1000

Cattle numbers surged to 1800 and quality was quite good.

A large gallery of buyers were at the sale but some trade processors could not match feedlot prices.

The standout feature was the cow sale, witnessing a notable 25c price surge. Well-finished heavy cows commanded prices ranging from 255c to 285c/kg, while leaner grades remained unchanged at 220c to 248c/kg.

Heavy steers and bullocks were in limited supply, leading to a 20c/kg price increase. These categories fetched prices between 250c and 308c/kg.

Increased demand for feeder steers resulted in a 15c to 30c uptick in prices, with medium weights selling from 286c to 310c/kg. The trade market experienced varied trends, with vealers exhibiting erratic pricing ranging from 220c to 310c/kg. Trade heifers saw a notable 25c increase, selling within the range of 250c to 296c/kg. Feeder heifers were actively sought after, experiencing a 30c gain and selling at prices between 260c and 295c/kg.
