Yarding 1000 Change – 200
Numbers were similar and quality did improve noteably.
The market found some traction with intense bidding across some trade categories.
The usual buying group attended along with a southern domestic buyer after a lengthy absence.
Vealer quality was mixed but, veal with plenty of yield and softness were keenly sought in lengthy bidding duels.
The pick of the vealers were up to 40c dearer recording a top price of 474c/kg. Yearling trade steers were few and buying competition was solid. The bulk selling at 365c to 400c/kg. The heifer portion gained 17c making from 335c to 390c/kg. Secondary steers suitable to feed, sold to a small group of buyers making from 355c to 414c/kg. In the export sale all processors operated, with some enthusiasm.
Heavy steers and bullocks were unchanged to slightly easier. Heavy bullocks making from 355c to 380c/kg.
It was an excellent line up of cows and heavy types lifted 6c to average 305c/kg.
Heavy bulls sold at 280c to 316c/kg.
