NVLX Wodonga 27 June 2023: Vealer prices lift with quality

A bigger group of export and domestic buyers were at the sale, however not all operated to capacity.

The reduced supply of vealers sold to stronger trends which was a reflection of the improved quality. The bulk of the vealers made from 280 to 368c/kg.

There were a few more trade steers this week with some grain assisted. Prices ranged from 280c to 368c/kg.

Trade Heifers lifted significantly selling from 240c to 326c/kg.

In the export sale competition was erratic. Heavy steers were few making from 220c to 284c/kg. Bullocks sold to strong bidding from a stock agent selling at 290c to 321c/kg. The small yarding of cows forced buyer into bidding strongly.

The better finished heavy types were dearer, selling from 221c to 250c/kg.

Heavy bulls sold at 220c to 246c/kg.
