NVLX Wodonga 21 March 2023: Buyers selective in plain offering

Numbers were similar however, quality declined and buyers became quite selective because of the very plain offering.

Most of the usual export and domestic buyers were at the sale.

The reduced supply of vealers sold to weak demand. The bulk of the vealers made from 280 to 422c/kg. Yearling trade steers were few and buying competition fluctuated. The bulk selling at 316c to 370c/kg. The heifer portion sold to erratic competition making from 325c to 336c/kg. Feeder heifers medium weight were unchanged making from 300c to 335c/kg.-

Feeder steers medium weight sold to weak demand to average 330c/kg. In the export sale most processors operated. Heavy bullocks equalled last week’s prices averaging 321c/kg. Heavy steers gained 5c selling at 320c to 372c/kg.

Despite a small offering of cows prices for leaner grades dipped 10c to 20c/kg. The better finished heavy types of cows were unchanged selling from 248c to 285c/kg. Heavy bulls sold at 250c to 305c/kg.
