Yarding 800 Change – 400
The usual winter group of export and domestic buyers were at the sale.
Hopes the market may hold its form were dashed, with price drops of 20c to 30c/kg frequent.
Some stock struggled to attract bids or buyers to the rail. Cattle had to be in prime condition and grain assisted to appeal processors.
There were limited numbers of trade steers to suit trade buyers and most sold 20 to 30c cheaper, the pick sold to a top price 338/kg.
Trade Heifer prices weakened 2c selling from 189c to 305c/kg.
Heavy steers sold to erratic buying, with major processors selective. Heavy steers softened 4c selling from 250c to 315c/kg.
Bullocks dipped 13c selling from 240c to 289c/kg.
A reduced offering of cows still gave buyers a handy selection in all categories. The better finished heavy cows were 25c to 29c cheaper selling from 187c to 228c/kg.
Heavy bulls sold at 218c to 235c/kg.
