Lotfeeders active at Roma

Beef Central 11/09/2012

A cautious mood among restocker buyers at today’s Roma store cattle sale saw light weight yearling steer prices decline by 2c and light weight yearling heifers fall by 8c/kg, according to MLA's National Livestock Reporting Service.

However feedlot buyers were willing to spend the extra dollars and prices jumped 8c for medium weight yearlings steers and 1c for heavy weight yearling steers to feed.

The yarding was 200 head down on last week’s numbers comprising 5100 mixed quality cattle.

The offering was dominated by one large single vendor line of 1174 plain conditioned heifers, which put downwards pressure on light and medium heifer prices, which dropped 5-20c/kg on average, according to the NLRS.
