Gunnedah sale 7 October 2025: Most categories cheaper in 3800 head yarding

Yarding 3815 Change -1385

Gunnedah penned 3815 good quality cattle a reduction of 1385 head. The regular buyers attended to much reduced trends through most categories.

Light yearling steers to background were much cheaper 420c to 481c/kg with steers to 330kgs also cheaper 455c to 472c/kg. Similar feeders slightly cheaper 380c to 486c/kg. Medium weight background steers slipped 29c/kg 372c to 489c/kg and the feeders lost 34c/kg 376c to 520c/kg. Feeders to 480kgs declined 19c/kg 395c to 510c/kg conversely backgrounders gained 18c/kg 472c to 478c/kg.

Processor steers gained 20c/kg 440c to 480c/kg. Light background heifers down 2c/kg 420c to 452c/kg feeders slipping 5c/kg making to 462c/kg. Medium feeders lost 24c/kg 350c to 456c/kg. Background drafts were up to 26c/kg cheaper. Medium processor heifers much cheaper 370c to 460c/kg.

Grown heifers over 540kgs 400c to 456c/kg. Three and four score cows significantly cheaper making 275c to 395c/kg back 28c to 35c/kg. Heavy bulls also cheaper 300c to 376c/kg.
