Gunnedah sale 28 Oct 2025: Heavy cows lift 12-18c

Gunnedah penned 3020 mixed quality cattle an extra 320 head. An extra cow buyer saw that category rise sharply particularly for the heavy drafts. The top drafts of feeders also dearer although there were plainer types in the mix factoring cheaper averages.

Light steers to background much cheaper 308c to 478c/kg. Medium feeders dearer for the better drafts although averages recorded slightly cheaper trends 398c to 502c/kg. Heavy feeders much the same down 13c/kg 408c to 488c/kg. Yearling processors 9c/kg cheaper 412c to 460c/kg. Light background heifers slipped considerably to 400c/kg. Medium feeders 380c to 436c/kg. Medium processor heifers to 7c/kg dearer 370c to 440c/kg. Heavy feeders down 7c/kg 380c to 438c/kg and heavy processor heifers gained 34c/kg 391c to 409c/kg.

Heavy grown heifers to process up to 15c/kg better, selling from 396-448c/kg. Three and four score cows gained 12-18c/kg selling from 360-420c/kg. Bulls 23c/kg dearer 300c to 372c/kg.
