Gunnedah sale 23 Sep 2025: Trends generally dearer

Yarding 2750 Change -710

Gunnedah offered 2750 mixed cattle 710 less. The regular buyers attended with strong competition from a domestic operator and a Southern heavy heifer buyer. A standout pen of Santa cows sold to 436c/kg. Trends generally dearer particularly through domestic categories.

Weaner steers to 620c/kg heifers to 580c/kg both to background. Light steers to the paddock lifted 8c/kg 390c to 536c/kg. Medium feeders 16c/kg cheaper 418c to 539c/kg. Feeders to 480kgs also cheaper making to 535c/kg. Similar weights to process dearer.

Light background heifers gained 11c/kg 414c to 482c/kg. Medium feeders 9c/kg better 470c to 488c/kg. Heavy processor heifers 8c/kg dearer 448c to 501c/kg.

Grown heifers to process 415c to 434c/kg. Medium cows were cheaper losing 16c/kg. Heavy cows to 15c/kg cheaper 320c to 436c/kg. Heavy bulls gained up to 30c/kg 260c to 300c/kg.
