Gunnedah sale 2 Sep 2025: Increase in yarding of 3300

Yarding 3300 Change +1150

Gunnedah penned 3300 cattle an increase of 1150 from last week. The regular buyers attended and operated to a market much similar to last week although dearer for the better drafts and crossbred feeders. Cow numbers much reduced.

Light feeder steers 386c to 492c/kg and a moderate rise in the background drafts 432c to 556c/kg. Medium feeders slightly dearer 380c to 561c/kg. The background drafts 430c to 500c/kg. Feeders to 480kgs were dearer 474c to 532c/kg. Processor steers over 480kgs 448c to 498c/kg with similar weights to feed 380c to 528c/kg. Light heifers to feed 400c to 494c/kg. Similar heifers to background 325c to 466c/kg. Medium heifers to feed met with strong competition 386c to 486c/kg. Heavy processors to 486c/kg.

Heavy grown steers to process 358c to 408c/kg similar heifers made up to 456c/kg. Heavy cows dearer 296c to 429c/kg. Heavy bulls were cheaper 282c to 340c/kg.
