Yarding 2300 Change +450
Gunnedah penned 2300 good quality cattle 450 more than last sale. The regular buyers attended and operated along with a Southern cow and feeder buyer. Trends improved through most categories with that extra competition.
Light steers to feed were much dearer 396c to 496c/kg. Feeders 280 to 330kgs slightly dearer 370c to 399c/kg. Medium feeders gained 32c/kg 340c to 480c/kg and feeders to 480kgs were 9c/kg dearer 326c to 476c/kg. Heavy feeders up 15c/kg 375c to 460c/kg. Light background heifers gained 15c/kg 235c to 414c/kg. Medium feeders 10c/kg dearer 330c to 409c/kg. Similar weight heifers to background slipped 35c/kg 276c to 365c/kg with the plainer conditioned drafts affecting averages.
Grown steers to process 326c to 355c/kg grown heifers also to process were 19c/kg better 324c to 356c/kg. Heavy cows up to 15c/kg dearer 245c to 350c/kg. Heavy bulls gained 25c/kg making 278c to 340c/kg.
