Dubbo sale 24 July 2025: Feeder steers and heifers 20 to 30c dearer

Yarding 4375 Change -415

Numbers were back by 400 for a yarding of 4375. It was a pretty good quality yarding with good numbers of prime cattle in all sections along with fair numbers to suit the feeders and backgrounders. There were also fair numbers of plainer cattle in from the far west. All the usual buyers were operating along with additional southern support.

Young cattle to the trade were up to 30c dearer with prime vealers and yearlings selling from 390c to 480c/kg. Feeder steers and heifers were 20 to 30c dearer and more in places with the feeder steers selling from 350c to 532c/kg. Feeder heifers sold from 335c to 450c/kg. Young cattle to the restockers were also dearer with the young steers selling to 538c while the young restocker heifers sold to 438c/kg.

Grown steers and heifers were 17c to 26c dearer with the prime grown steers selling from 420c to 466c/kg. Prime grown heifers sold from 370c to 458c/kg. Cows were up to 42c dearer with the 3 scores selling from 270c to 386c/kg. Prime heavy weight cows sold from 355c to 416c to average 394c/kg. Cows to the restockers sold from 160c to 260c/kg. Heavy bulls were 17c dearer selling to 354c/kg.
