Yarding 3079 Change -2767
Numbers declined with some large falls of rain in the supply area, up to 150mm in places. The quality was good with the bulk of the yearlings and grown cattle in forward condition. There was a larger run of light crossbreed weaners. Good numbers of heavy feeders and trade cattle. Grown steers and bullocks were better supplied with more weights through the top end. Lean cows were very limited with the bulk of the cows heavy 3 and 4 scores. The market sold to a stronger trend despite not all the usual buyers operating.
Light weaners sold from 450c to 550c for steers and most heifers 400c to 528c/kg which was cheaper on quality and breed. Feeder steers were 10c to 15c dearer on the medium weights which were limited in numbers and heavy weights gained 15c to 20c/kg and most ranged from 488c to 564c/kg. Feeder heifers followed a similar trend up 15c to 20c/kg with medium weights mainly 464c to 492c and heavy weights reached 509c/kg. Trade cattle bounced with the feeders with steers up 20c and heifers averaged 10c/kg stronger, most sold between 460c and 526c/kg.
Grown steers and bullock in prime condition were 15c stronger selling from 490c to 526c and lighter 2 tooth to feed reached 544c/kg. Heavy grown heifers lifted 20c selling from 470c to 500c/kg and the heavy cows in 3 and 4 score condition sold from 378c to 448c/kg. Very few lean and light cows were sold but ranged from 360c to 388c/kg. The best of the heavy bulls reached 425c/kg.
