Yarding 2438 Change -200
The trend of less numbers being yarded continued at Dalby with agents penning 2,438 head, 200 less than the previous week.
A good panel of buyers was present and operating, however one major export processor remains absent from the buying panel. Restocker attendance was very good and included local and interstate buyers.
Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock continued to be in demand.
Restockers were in direct competition against feeder buyers on yearling steers under 400kg, and prices generally improved.
Yearling heifers to restockers or feed sold to a dearer trend.
A handful of bullocks improved in price.
Cows to restockers and export processors sold to a dearer market to average 6c/kg better.
Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock made to a top of 632c with a good sample averaging 549c/kg. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market averaged from 481c to 541c, however restockers lines averaged from 544c to 547c and sold to a top of 557c/kg. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed made to 486c with a good sample averaging 460c/kg.
Light weight yearling heifers averaged 504c and sold to 556c/kg. Yearling heifers to feed averaged from 459c to 490c/kg. Heavy weight yearling heifers to feed made to 450c, averaging 426c/kg. Medium weight grown steers to feed averaged 404c and heavy grown steers to feed averaged 373c/kg.
A handful of bullocks made to 390c to average 382c/kg. Medium weight plain condition cows returning to the paddock averaged 304c and heavy weights made to 317c/kg.
Good heavy weight cows to export processors averaged 311c with the occasional sale to 328c/kg.
Heavy weight bulls made to 312c/kg.

There was a smaller yarding today by 200 head with a total yarding of 2438, due to some more good winter rainfall. Cattle sold to a firm or dearer market. Buyers & restocker attendance was very strong with still one major export buyer not in attendance.
