Export buyer attendance was good with the return of one major export processor plus the regular feed and trade buyers and a large line up of local and interstate restockers.

Prices generally improved across a number of classes.

Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock averaged over 40c/kg better.

Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market improved by 15c to 44c, and heavy weight yearling steers to feed lifted in price by 37c/kg. All classes of yearling heifers sold to a dearer trend with improvements of 23c to 48c/kg fairly common.

Heavy grown steers and bullocks to export processors also sold to a dearer market.

Plain condition heavy weight PTIC cows were noticeably dearer and good heavy weight cows to export processors lifted in price by 16c/kg.

Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock made to 678c with a large sample averaging 595c/kg. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market averaged from 525c to 556c with the occasional sale to 590c/kg. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed made to 548c with the largest numbers making 497c/kg.

Well-bred light weight yearling heifers sold close to the steer portion at 676c with a good sample averaging 552c/kg.

Yearling heifers to feed averaged from 504c to 513c with sales to 544c/kg.

Heavy weight yearling heifers to feed made to 505c to average 469c/kg.

Medium weight grown steers to feed made to 440c to average from 413c to 416c/kg. Heavy grown steers to feed averaged 400c/kg. A handful of heavy grown steers to the wholesale meat trade made to 410c/kg.

A few bullocks to export processors made to 394c to average 388c/kg. Medium weight plain condition cows returning to the paddock averaged 308c and the PTIC heavy weights made to a top of 428c to average 389c/kg.

Good heavy weight cows to export processors made to a top of 335c with a large selection averaging 326c/kg.

Heavy weight bulls to export processors made to 348c, and one bull found a new home at 358c/kg.

Increase in numbers this week with a full panel of buyers plus a Victorian processor a losing bidder on some of the heavy export cattle. Cows making 333c, heavy feeder steers 400kg making over 500c. Hereford cows VGQ young PTIC 4mths & over to local restockers made 428c/kg, 601kg, $2,576.

A very strong solid market from start to finish.
