Overall quality of the grown cattle was generally good with a large consignment of bullocks from far Western Queensland.

A full panel of export buyers was present and operating, along with the usual feed and trade buyers, plus local and interstate restockers.

Light weight young cattle experienced very strong support from restockers, with some consignments going as far south as Victoria.

Yearling steers to feed averaged 4c to 8c/kg better. Light weight yearling heifers returning to the paddock averaged over 30c/kg dearer.

Yearling heifers to feed for the domestic market sold to a dearer trend, and heavy weight yearling heifers to feed averaged 24c/kg better.

The good line up of heavy grown steers and bullocks to export processors averaged 4c to 8c/kg dearer. Cows experienced a dearer trend, with good heavy weight cows gaining 3c, however medium weight cows to export processors lifted in price by 16c/kg.

Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock were well supplied and averaged 496c, with the occasional sale to 608.2c/kg. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market averaged from 434c to 453c and sold to 474c/kg. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed made to 443.2c with good sample averaging 420c/kg.

Light weight yearling heifers returning to the paddock averaged 509c with one consignment of 122 head making to 586.2c/kg. Yearling heifers to feed averaged from 426c to 431c and made to 445c/kg. Heavy weight yearling heifers to feed made to 430c to average 414c/kg. Heavy grown steers to export processors made to 394.2c to average 389c and the bullock portion made to 393.2c to average 387c with a small sample over 750kg making to 392c/kg. Medium weight plain condition cows returning to the paddock made to 292c to average 288c/kg. Medium weight 2 scores to processors averaged 280c whilst 3 scores averaged 292c/kg.

The best of the medium weight cows averaged 317c and made to 327.2c/kg. Good heavy weight cows made to 329.2c with a large sample averaging 319c/kg. Heavy weight bulls made 363c/kg
