A large panel of export buyers was present and include in the line-up was some interstate processors.

The regular feeder operators were in attendance along with a larger panel of restockers.

Apart from poor quality light weight yearling heifers easing in price most other classes of stock sold to a much dearer trend. Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock averaged 23c/kg dearer.

The better end of the medium weight yearling steers to feed averaged 5c dearer and heavy weight yearling steers to feed averaged 5c to 11c/kg better. Medium weight yearling heifers to feed averaged over 30c/kg dearer. Heavy grown steers and bullocks sold close to the improved prices of the previous sale. All classes of cows were in demand and the largest samples averaged 14c to 18c/kg dearer. Steer calves made to 290.2c and heifer calves 251.2c/kg. A large sample of light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock averaged 285c and made to 305.2c/kg. Medium weight yearling steers to feed averaged 300c and made to 323.2c while lesser condition lines averaged 277c/kg. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed sold in the mid-to high 280c range with some to 323.2c/kg.

The best of the light weight yearling heifers averaged in the 230c range with sales to 277.2c, while the poor quality lines averaged 194c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers to feed averaged 275c with sales to 288.2c/kg. Heavy weight yearling heifers to feed made to the occasional 286c with most around 267c/kg. Heavy grown steers to export slaughter made to 299.2c to average 286c and a large supply of bullocks averaged 290c and made to 306.2c/kg some returning just over $2,000/head. Medium weight 2 score cows to processors averaged 189c and made to 193.2c/kg. Good heavy cows were in the largest numbers and averaged 230c and sold 239.2c/kg in pen lots.

Heavy bulls made to the occasional 260.2c/kg.

There was an increased supply of bullocks and cows. Prices lifted on all classes except lightweight yearling heifers.  Cows improved 14 to 18c topping at 239.2c.  Bullocks topped at 306.2c to average 290c. – Jordan Wenham, GDL Dalby.
