Yarding 5604 Change -1867
The supply of stock at Dalby reduced by 1,867 head however still remained the highest in the nation at 5,604 head. The regular panel of export and feeder buyers were in attendance and operating plus a good lineup of restockers.
Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock averaged 8c to 10c/kg better. Medium and heavy weight yearling steers to feed sold to a dearer trend with top end quality lines noticeably better. Light weight yearling heifers to restockers were the highlight of the sale to average 25c to 30c/kg dearer. Heavy grown steers and bullocks generally sold to a firm market. Cows were firm to 3c/kg less.
Light weight yearling steers to restockers made to a top of 472c to average from 408c to 419c/kg. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market sold to a high of 440c to average 391c/kg. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed made to 403c to average 389c with one consignment of 99 head making 400c/kg. A good selection of light weight yearling heifers returning to the paddock made to 360c with most sales from 325c to 343c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers to feed made to 360c to average 329c and a run of 126 head made 354c/kg. Heavy weight yearling heifers to feed averaged 334c and made to 350c/kg.
A small sample of bullocks made to 350c/kg. Medium weight 2 score cows averaged 255c and made to 265c/kg. Medium weight 3 scores made to 279c to average 269c/kg. Heavy weight 3 score cows averaged 273c and the best of the cows made to 290c to average 285c/kg. Heavy weight bulls made to 293c/kg.

Good sale in Dalby today with weaners and yearling cattle in store condition selling to a dearer trend. While fat cattle were slightly cheaper. Continued rain around areas helped to continue the positive market of feeder and backgrounder cattle.
Next week GDL are selling 7th.
