Cattle were drawn from a wide area with 1570 from far Western Queensland and 160 from NSW and 171 head from South Australia.

Export buyer attendance was not as good as the previous sale, however a large panel of feeder buyers were operating along with some restockers.

Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock could not maintain the levels of the previous sale and lost 5c to 10c/kg. Medium weight yearling steers to feed lifted in price by 2c to 5c and the largest sample of heavy weights to feed averaged 3c/kg better.

Light weight yearling heifers to restockers or background averaged 15c to 22c/kg cheaper, however some of the losses could be attributed to the quality penned. The better end of the medium weight yearling heifers to feed averaged 2c less, while a poor condition lines averaged 15c/kg cheaper.

Heavy grown steers and bullocks generally sold to firm demand. However, cows sold to a cheaper trend to lose 3c to 9c/kg. A large supply of light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock averaged 302c and made to 336.2c, while poor quality lines mostly sold around 250c/kg.
