Yarding 6226 Change +3932
A combination of a spell of fine weather and a return to a regular working week lifted numbers substantially at Dalby by 3,932 head to 6,226. The first of the stock from far Western Queensland since the flooding rain contained a good sample of 864 head. Export buyer attendance was good and similar to the previous week not all were operating. The regular feed and trade plus restocker buyers were present and active.
A large selection of light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock remained firm. Medium weight yearling steers to feed were also firm to 10c/kg better. The large sample of heavy weight yearling steers to feed allowed average prices to ease by 9c/kg however top end quality lines remained close to the previous week. All classes of yearling heifers followed a similar trend with only well bred lines in demand. Cows to export processors averaged 12c to 20c/kg less.
Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock made to 474c to average 431c/kg. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market averaged from 393c to 425c with isolated sales to 465c/kg.
