EXPORT buyer attendance was good with the return of all export processors, plus some additional support from Victorian operators.

The regular feeder buyers were in attendance and active, and the large panel of restockers included a number of interstate operators.

Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock sold to very strong demand.

Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market improved in price, and heavy weight yearling steers to feed experienced a very strong market. Yearling heifers followed a similar trend. Cows to export processors sold to firm demand, however plain condition cows to restockers sold to a dearer market.

Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock made to 480.2c a large sample averaging 431c/kg. Yearling steers to feed under 330kg made to 438c to average 415c/kg. Medium weight yearling steers to feed made to 420c to average 390c/kg. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed averaged 385c and made to 401c/kg. Light weight yearling heifers to restockers or background made to 432c, a large selection averaging 389c/kg. Yearling heifers under 300kg made to 396c to average 377c/kg. Medium weights made to 390.2c to average 358c, and a few to the trade made to 418.2c/kg. Heavy weight yearling heifers to feed averaged 336c and made to 360c/kg. A few heavy weight yearling heifers certified grain fed made to 401.2c/kg. A consignment of 44 bullocks just over 600 kg sold to feeder operators at 335.2c/kg.

The best of the medium weight cows made to 293c to average 284c/kg. Good heavy cows made to 293c a fair sample averaging 285c/kg. Heavy bulls made to 325c/kg.
