Dalby sale 15 July 2020: Firm to dearer market in smaller yarding

The usual panel of export buyers was present and operating, plus the regular feeder buyers. The large panel of restockers once again included some interstate buyers. Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock averaged 18c/kg better. Medium and heavy weight yearling steers to feed also lifted in price to average 10c to 18c/kg dearer.

Light weight yearling heifers improved in price by 6c/kg. Medium and heavy weight yearling heifers to feed were firm to dearer. The better end of the cows to processors averaged 3c to 4c/kg less, against the large losses experienced the previous week. However plain condition cows to processors sold to solid demand. Yearling steers under 200kg made to 466.2c to average 439c/kg. A large selection of light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock average 438c and made to 458.2c/kg. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market made to 432c, to average from 404c to 408c/kg. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed made to an isolated 438.2c to average 390c/kg. Light weight yearling heifers to restockers or background average 384c and made to 434c/kg. Yearling heifers to feed for the domestic market made to 400c to average in the high 370c/kg range. Heavy weight yearling heifers to feed averaged 362c and made to 378c/kg. Medium weight grown steers to feed made to 373c with a large sample averaging 363c/kg. Medium weight two score cows to restockers averaged 248c and made to 253c/kg. Medium weight 2 scores to processors averaged 250c, and 3 scores 264c/kg. A fair sample of good heavy cows averaged 284c and made to 294.2c/kg. Heavy bulls made to 318c/kg.
