Yarding 4690 Change +602
Only the regular export buyers were in attendance this week along with feeder operators and restockers.
Most classes could not maintain the levels of the previous week.
Well-bred lines met fair demand however a small slip in quality resulted in a large fall in price. Light weight yearling steers to restockers averaged 40c/kg less in places.
Light weight yearling heifers to restockers followed a similar trend. Medium weight yearling steers to feed averaged 15c to 27c/kg cheaper. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed experienced very little change in price. Medium and heavy weight yearling heifers to feed averaged 10c to 27c/kg less. Most classes of cows followed the trend of other selling centres and averaged 6c to 10c and up to 15c/kg cheaper. Light weight steers returning to the paddock made to 420c with the largest numbers averaging from 337c to 359c/kg. Medium weight yearling steers to feed made to 383c to average from 336c to 349c/kg. Grant Daniel Long report
Similar Numbers in Dalby this week. The usual panel of buyers were present and active but operating to very selective criteria. On an average the market softened across the board to varying degrees depending on the quality of cattle. Top lines of cattle sold to similar rates seen last week, a lot of cattle were back around 10 to 15c/kg and secondary lines and out of spec cattle were back as much as 40c/kg.
