Yarding 4403 Change 1028

A large panel of export buyers and feeder operators was present, and all were operating in a generally dearer market.

Young light weight cattle returning to the paddock experienced very strong demand pushed on by Southern restockers.

All classes of feeder cattle also received very strong support and sold to a dearer market.

A large number of cows were penned, and despite the increase in supply prices lifted across all categories with strong demand from processors as well as restockers. Mixed sex calves returning to the paddock averaged 453c with steer calves making to 488.2c/kg. Light weight yearling steers sold to restockers at an average of 422c, and made to 467c/kg. Yearling steers to feed for the domestic market averaged in the mid to high 380c/kg range and made to 443c/kg. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed made to an isolated 438.2c to average 379c/kg.
