Yarding 4905 Change +935
The supply of cattle continues to climb with the Dalby agents yarding 4,905 head an increase of 935. All the regular export processors were in attendance and active along with a few additional southern operators. Feed and restocker buyers were well represented and all were operating.
Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock were well supplied and averaged 6c to 16c/kg better. Yearling steers to feed were in demand and averaged over 20c/kg dearer on selected lines. Light weight yearling heifers to restockers and feed experienced only quality related changes following the large increase in price the previous week. All classes of cows sold to a much dearer market to average 20c to 26c/kg better.
Light weight yearling steers to restockers made to 493c to average from 418c to 436c/kg. Medium weight yearling steers to feed averaged from 408c to 420 with the occasional sale to 466c/kg. Heavy weight yearling steers to feed averaged from 370c to 383c and sold to 428c/kg. Light weight yearling heifers returning to the paddock made to 348c and averaged from 322c to 323c/kg. Medium weight yearling heifers to feed made to 374c to average 330c and heavy weights made to 372c to average 344c/kg.
A small selection of bullocks made to 368c to average 361c/kg. Medium weight plain condition cows to restockers made to 275c to average 271c/kg. Medium weight 2 scores to processors averaged 262c and made to 272c/kg. Heavy weight 3 score cows averaged 276c and the best of the heavy weight cows made to 310c to average 300c/kg. Heavy weight bulls made to 320c/kg.

Increased yarding in Dalby this week with all regular buyers in attendance including additional southern buyers. Overall market trend today was firm to dearer in all categories. Kill cattle saw the biggest increase with cows 20 to 25 cents dearer.
