Grant Daniel Long report:
6220 cattle were yarded today an increase of 3500 on last week’s sale. Plain store condition cattle still being yarded from Western NSW, South Australia, Birdsville, Quilpie and Windorah are meeting solid competition. Light condition cows and calves are making $900 to $1,400. Plain condition Shorthorn steers sold for 366.2c, average 199.3kg, $730 and Shorthorn cows sold for 215c average 443kg, $953. Last week saw some good rainfall in the local area 26mm to 100mm which has helped the local market. – Joe Lehman,GDL Dalby
