Yarding 9215 Change +1937

The movement of larger numbers of cattle nationally continued at Dalby with agents penning 9215 head the highest number for over five years. A large sample of 1309 cows and 517 bulls were included in the lineup. The yarding was dominated by heavy weight cattle with 7514 head in the first round of the sale with only 1701 of light weight lines. Export buyer attendance was good and the regular panel of feeder and trade plus restocker operators were active in the market.
Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock sold close to the previous weeks level. Medium and heavy weight yearling steers to feed varied in price according to quality. The yearling heifers followed the trend of the yearling steers with only quality related price changes. Most export processor lines could not maintain the levels of the previous sale.
