Yarding 5326 Change -239
The number of cattle penned at Dalby experienced a small reduction of 239 head to 5326. Southern export buyers provided strong competition across the better end of the bullocks and cows, however not all the regular export buyers were in attendance. A good panel of feed and trade buyers plus restockers were present and active.
Light weight yearling steers returning to the paddock struggled to maintain the levels of the previous sale and sold to a cheaper market in places. Medium and heavy weight yearling steers to feed experienced only quality related price changes. Selected lines of lightweight yearling heifers returning to the paddock sold to good demand however most other classes sold to a cheaper trend. Medium and heavy weight yearling heifers to feed received very little change. Heavy grown steers and bullocks sold to strong demand. Around 1,300 cows were penned and buyers were able to absorb the large supply plus lift prices by a further 8c to 12c/kg.

Grant Daniel Long report
Dalby saw a similar yarding to last week, with a large number of cows & prime cattle present. Strong demand from southern export buyers led to an increase of 5c to 10c/kg for heavy weight cows. Feeder steers & heifers held firm due to limited numbers, while restocker steers and heifers were firm to slightly cheaper.
